We are often asked if you can just staple, tape or hang our themed backdrops over a railing. When we respond “no”, we are not just thinking of the potential damage to our backdrops but we are always thinking of the serious issues that could arise.
The preferred method of installation of one of our 6m tall x 12m wide themed backdrops is by tying them to a truss (for larger venues), fly bar (for theatres) and floor mounted rigging (standard venue spaces). These structures provide the stability you need for a backdrop and we recommend floor mounted rigging for our smaller 3m tall x 6m wide backdrops as well.
After all the planning and excitement around your special event, conference or gala dinner…the last thing you need to worry about is whether a short cut was taken that could effect the whole evening. We welcome client’s putting our team in touch with those individuals or teams who will be working with the backdrops to ensure all safety measures are taken when using backdrops from Backdrops Fantastic, and that you are completely satisfied with your selected drop.
The image you see is part of floor mounted rigging. It is the baseplate that sits on the ground and are what uprights are attached to. We then use cross bars to connect additional baseplate/upright sets. This is the most common structure used if a client is installing a backdrop themselves. For more information on rigging our backdrops, please do not hesitate to contact our team for a full set of instructions.
Safety first…then the party can begin with backdrops from Backdrops Fantastic!
